A nice cave to visit with a really good and spooky history. Cafe outside is good to have a grab and run by very friendly folks.

We celebrated my son's 7th birthday with a Harry Potter style party at the Hellfire Caves last weekend and it was truly superb. Making potions, casting spells, racing broomsticks - the kids were so engaged for 1.5 hours and the adults loved it too. The entertainers were absolutely brilliant and completely made the day. The organising-side of things was seamless and far exceeded my expectations. A day we will remember for a long time. Well worth it. Thank you!

Great time! The caves are very cool, info plaques attached to the walls are interesting. Only takes about 20mins to get through if you rush, but you can spend more than an hour talking a slow walk though and reading everything

Interesting place. Information limited though and took us a while and a Google search to work out what the place was.
Car park limited, park at the bottom and walk up

Perhaps my expectations let me down! From what I saw, it is a well maintained and impressive cave, with extensive tunnels, well maintained. It sounded like it was primarily used as a bachelors pad for a small selection of influential people from the past. The only piece of history that was of value to me, was that it was at some point used to help the local people with employment at a time of severe hardship. I am happy to have visited it but I may not be interested in visiting again.

A rather weird and slightly disturbing experience seeing as there are descriptions of elite occult erotic parties held down there....wouldn't take kids there. The renovation is good.

A fine trip out, we enjoyed it enough, but not the best caves we've been too. Best renamed to The Hellfire Tunnels as there isn't really anything that resembles caves. Only a couple of chambers that were reasonable in size, everything else is just a tunnel with some setup manikins. The boards with info are interesting enough but again just a bit simple. We read through most of them and completed it all within 35 minutes. If this is part of a larger day out, sure it would be fun, but don't go out of your way just to come to these tunnels. (We travelled 2 hours as part of a bigger day out and would have been very disappointed if it was our only place to visit on the day)

Great caves but some of the mini exhibits need tidying up. Disappointed that the big stalectites are false and attached to the ceiling with ye olde zip ties!

Was in the area for a weekend away and looking for something to do before a 3 hour drive home.
Found the caves online and drove over. Was a nice wander through the tunnels, see something new and read about the history.

Overall worth a 30min visit found it great to break up our journey home. Makes you think what it was really used for. Parking out front only 8ish spaces. 10min walk down the steep road is NT carpark.

I've never been there before. But when I watched it on Ghost Hunters, I realized that the Hellfire club was actually a group of people doing a service to it's local church. Because traditionally people like to think of hell as being in the Earth. And demons are in hell. Well, those people were creating that scene. They dressed up as demons and partied in a cave system that led directly below the church. To create the scene of demons in hell (inside the Earth).

Highly recommended, very interesting place. Would recommend parking in the car park nearby though.
